Here at The Metropole Hotel Cork we are proud to name Cork Penny Dinners as our 2020 Charity Partner. Cork Penny Dinners is one of Cork’s oldest charitable organisations, helping those in need since the 1840s.

Currently the charity serves up to 2000 freshly made meals per week from their premises compared to approximately 150 or less per week prior to the recession. Their aim is to help all who struggle and those in need. Cork Penny Dinners provide a hot nourishing meal of soup, main course, dessert and tea/coffee daily. In addition sandwiches, biscuits, fruit and juices are also available to take away as an evening meal. Donations of warm clothes and bedding such as sleeping bags and duvets are also provided to people in need. Their door is always open with a warm welcome waiting  seven days a week all year round including Christmas Day.
