Cork Jazz Festival
The 2020 Guinness Cork Jazz Festival will Take place from Thursday 22nd to Monday 26th of October, in Cork City boasts an exciting line up of world-class Jazz greats, bringing the Festival back to its roots as the Jazz haven of Ireland.
The Jazz Festival was founded on an idea created by Jim Mountjoy, the then Metropole’s marketing manager, way back in 1978. Since then the hotel has hosted many of the greatest names in jazz and has helped the festival to grow from strength to strength. We now welcome over 40,000 visitors to Cork each year to celebrate the festival.
For four days in 2020, we will become the beating heart of the Cork Jazz Festival.
Cork Jazz Festival Club
All Weekend; Friday, 23 October to Monday, 26 October 2019
The famous Festival Club at the Metropole Hotel is celebrating its 43rd edition and will once again play host to a top range of diverse artists and music on several stages throughout the Jazz Festival weekend.
Fans of swing, funk, groove, blues and dixieland will be well catered for, with an exciting mix of Irish and international acts. Patrons may move from stage to stage to enjoy the special atmosphere and excitement of the Festival Club in this special celebratory year.
The Festival Club lineup will be announced in Summer 2020.
The Barman’s Ball

The annual ‘Barman’s Ball’ is traditionally the night where those who worked all weekend, got to kick off the heels and enjoy the last night of the Cork Jazz festival. This is definitely one of the highlights of the weekend within the Metropole Hotel.
