CRAWFORD GALLERY

If you fancy heading out to see some exquisite art and exhibitions after a day of meetings, why not pop down to Crawford Art Gallery.

A national cultural institution located in the heart of Cork City centre, Crawford Art Gallery is home to the visual arts both contemporary and classic. The gallery is home to over 3,000 works, ranging from 18th century paintings & sculptures, to contemporary installations.  The Crawford art gallery makes for the perfect place to visit during a work trip to Cork.

Just a 10 minute walk from The Metropole Hotel, Crawford Art Gallery offers visitors an oasis of calm & tranquillity in the heart of Cork City. Perfect for relaxing after a long day.

CRANE LANE

If you and your team members are looking for some laid back entertainment for the evening, why not head down to Crane Lane Theatre. Loved by locals and visitors alike, Crane Lane is located just off Oliver Plunkett Street, a lee than 10 minute walk away from The Metropole Hotel.

Crane Lane is a staple in Cork’s cultural heritage and is located in a former gentlemen’s club. It is one of the best known pubs in Cork, with ornate interiors with also one of Cork’s best beer gardens. Crane Lane also has live music and performances most evenings as well, so is a perfect place for a few drinks after work.

CORK SUNSET CRUISE

Looking for the perfect way for your team to unwind after a productive day? Why not organise for you and your team to head out and enjoy the sights of Cork while sailing through the River Lee.

Cork Harbour Cruises offer the perfect post-work activity; A Sunset Cruise from The Port of Cork. Only a short walk away from The Metropole Hotel, enjoy a tranquil evening and leave between the hustle & bustle of the working week. The cruise lasts about 2.5 hours and there is a bar on-board, so you and your team can celebrate the end of a productive week. Cruise by the gorgeous coastal town of Cobh and enjoy the sights and sounds of the harbour. You will get fantastic evening views of Cork City as you return back to land.

THE EVERYMAN THEATRE

Tired after a day of work and don’t want to travel too far? Why not catch a show next door at The Everyman Theatre. Unfortunately, due to restrictions, The Everyman has been hit badly, so why not support the Arts when they reopen.

The Everyman Theatre have an outstanding reputation for putting on the best shows and plays in the country. This summer, The Everyman Theatre held a series of outdoor events at Elizabeth’s Fort to much accolade. Here at The Metropole Hotel, we have our fingers crossed that our neighbours are able to re-open soon. When they do, why not grab a pre-show cocktail in The MET Bar and enjoy evening entertainment.

ARDÚ WALKING TRAIL

If you just want to take it easy and get some fresh evening air in after a long day of work. Why not follow the Ardú Street Art Trail around the city. It is a fantastic way to explore the city while also getting your steps in for the day.

Start at Shane O’Driscoll’s colourful creation, right next door to The Metropole Hotel, on Harley Street. Why not grab a coffee or tea at Bevs & Brews, part of Harley StrEAT, and head out around the city.

Ardú have a self-guided audio tour available and can guide you through all the fantastic and fascinating pieces of art all along the city.
