Clonakilty Distillery

Clonakilty Distillery is located in the heart of West Cork.  Opened in 2019, it is less than an hour outside of Cork city and offers an ideal stopping point for visitors travelling along the Wild Atlantic Way. Tours are fully guided and include tutored tastings of premium whiskeys and gin.  Visitors are treated to a hands-on experience, and can witness the distillation of gin and whiskey in a real working distillery.

They have a visitor store which sells distillery-only available premium whiskeys, (proving popular among connoisseurs), as well as other fun memorabilia and gifts.

If you work up an appetite, drop into the Whale’s Tail Bistro for lunch or dinner, and enjoy a taste of fresh, local cuisine.  If you visit on a Saturday evening, why not book a Gin School experience, and learn how to distill your own bottle of gin?

WHISKEY TOUR

Price: Start from €15 per person

Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and smells of our fully working distillery, guided by our expert tour guides. Delve into the art of our triple distilled Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey, discover our distillery’s heritage and dive into the local history of Clonakilty. This one-hour tour concludes with a tutored tasting of Clonakilty Whiskey.

MINKE GIN SCHOOL

Price: €49 per person
Date: Saturdays at 6pm

In a fun-filled two hours, learn how to distill your own bottle of gin in the Minke Gin School. Sip on a refreshing Minke G&T, and hear about the difference between a London dry and a pink gin, and the many other boutique gins entering the market in recent years.
