For over 128 years The Metropole Hotel in Cork has been sharing life’s celebrations with our guests by providing excellent food, friendly attentive service, and a beautiful venue in the heart of Cork City.

Our beautiful ballroom overlooking the River Lee is iconic in Cork for large celebrations like Birthdays, Gala Dinners, Weddings, Award Ceremonies, and Charity events. For more intimate celebrations we have an eclectic range of rooms to suit different occasions. Celebrate those key moments in family life in one of our suites on the first floor or in a private area of The Met restaurant.

We have been celebrating Christenings, Communions, Birthdays, Anniversaries, (we celebrated a 70th Anniversary in 2025 with a couple who married here), and honoring loved ones at Funerals and Memorials with families in Cork for over 128 years. When it is time to celebrate a lifetime at a funeral or a memorial you are in safe hands with the experienced team at the hotel.

Whether it’s one of those special birthdays, a school or family reunion, an anniversary, a fundraising event or your own traditional gathering, from 2 to 400, The Metropole Hotel has the room and the menu for you and a team that will add the Metropole magic to your celebration.
