Keeping Traditions Alive

In Ireland, we have a unique tradition known as Nollaig na mBan, or  ‘Women’s Little Christmas’. On January 6th, after the main Christmas festivities were concluded, women traditionally gathered on the day of the Feast of the Epiphany. It was a time for women to share stories, drink, laugh and revel in each others company after a busy festive season, during which, typically, they would have borne most of the household workload.

Since then, times have changed, but many women still gather on January 6th to celebrate one another and spend time with friends over the festive season, a tradition that we embrace and enjoy watching it evolve.
