Cork Midsummer Festival
Cork Midsummer Festival is a ten-day multi-disciplinary arts festival that takes place each summer and uses Cork City as its backdrop and inspiration. Each summer, a variety of venues around the city, from large to small, present music, theatre, dance, installations, and talks from both emerging and established artists. The Metropole Hotel Cork is delighted to return this year as one of the festivals proud festival patron.
Last year's festival featured a wealth of very special programme that included a site-specific installation in the National Sculpture Factory by artist Robert Curgenven, an appearance by the Cork Fleischmann Symphony Orchestra in the Glen River Park, and an installation of a seven-metre moon with a soundtrack by composer Dan Jones in Nexus Hall in Cork Institute of Technology.
The 2018 promises to be just as varied and fascinating, so watch out for a similarly stellar line-up this summer - full programme will be launched in early May! The 2018 Festival runs form 15th – 24th June inclusive.
At the Metropole Hotel Cork we will also host the inaugural MET Cork Midsummer Masquerade Ball on Saturday 16th June @ €75.00 per person. For more information on this event click here or call us on 021 4643771.
