Cork Midsummer Festival 2020 Reimagined {Schedule of Events}

CORK MIDSUMMER FESTIVAL 2020 REIMAGINED

We recently asked our guests what they missed the most about visiting Cork and they answered almost unanimously – our festivals and events! So we have exciting news for you… this year, Cork’s best loved Summer Festival – Cork Midsummer Festival will be going virtual with Midsummer Moments.

The Festival is working with Cork partners, 40 national and international artists and a range of participants from the community to keep the Cork Midsummer light shining through this exciting programme of Midsummer Moments in June. From travelling theatre, billboard and audio walks, to the reimagined Long Table Picnic, online music performances and new work from our artists in residence, everyone is invited to take part from home.

There are four ways to engage with events – outdoors, at home, with artists in residence and through online discussions.

Here are some of our favourites on the virtual festival schedule:

WATCH:

In the virtual company of an artist, transform the solitary experience binge-watching television shows to bring you a little solace at home in BINGE.

LISTEN:

Cork DJ Stevie G will be streaming live DJ & music events from behind the closed doors of an array of city locations

SHARE:

Share your own lockdown experience via 3D imagery uploaded to create a world of hidden moments in Shelter & Place as part of a new work being developed by Leon Butler and Peter Power (Cork Midsummer Festival Artist-In-Residence).

DISCUSS:

Ali Fitzgibbon will facilitate an online discussion, Turning Point, with Cork artists and freelance arts workers about the changes we want to see and be a part of.
